Yoga Teacher RYT500
Both an art and science, Yoga for well-being requires an “inner listening”, and when practiced with intentional kindness, is a meaningful path to self-discovery. Sharing my love for the practice since 2000, you’ll find my approach heart based and enriching.
My journey of Yoga practice began, as most here in the western world, with the physical benefits of asana(postures), but I quickly discovered that asana is only one of the myriad of benefits that yoga offers. Over my many years of practice I've earned numerous certifications including in-depth teachings with Shiva Shakti School of Yoga & Healing Arts, earning my advanced yoga teaching certifications, and registering with the Yoga Alliance as a CEU provider and 500RYT.
I've also studied Thai Chi, Qigong, received black belts in Shaolin Kung Fu and Hapkido. I am also a provider of Thai Yoga Body Work and Reiki healing.
This combination of mind/body/spirit/healing arts enables me to offer my clients a uniquely intuitive experience.
My study of these arts occurred while simultaneously founding and directing a successful non-profit fitness & community center in rural Guilford, ME. After retiring from my Directorship at Community Fitness in 2020 I’ve devoted my energy to my studio, Center Yoga & Healing Arts.
As I’ve matured, my yoga practice and teachings have grown into a gentle flowing style that nurtures the body while also building strength and enhancing flexibility. Pranayama (breathwork) and meditation balance asana practice and encourage connection to spirit.
Co-host & LMSW-CC CADC
Working with children and families in the foster care system as an Intensive Case Manager & advocate for therapeutic level foster children has given me a fertile ground of experience in the many facets of the human condition. This work has lead me to deepen my studies in an effort to provide support and healing for individuals who are experiencing or have experienced trauma in their lives. With my bachelor's in Mental Health & Human Services followed by a recently earned Master's of Social Work (clinical focus) from UMO, I have continued to strengthen my ability and commitment to be of service to those in need. The master's program has been a period of personal growth and self awareness and I'm excited to put my training into practice in the unique setting of a women's retreat.
My experience also includes being employed as an advocate for domestic violence survivors and crisis helpline advocate, as well as a certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor.
The skills I've gained through work and formal education enable me to offer a variety of creative methods of stress management and relaxation.
Artistic Creative Play
As an artist and wellness facilitator, my personal studio practices and explorations inspire my workshops that cover a variety of topics in the areas of creativity, wellness and personal growth. The healing and restorative qualities of the Creative Process are the basis of many of my programs, offering opportunities and inspiration for stress reduction, personal storytelling and joyful experiences. A life long love for hand crafts inspired me to return to college where I studied Studio Art and Wood/Mixed Media at the University of Maine at Orono and Haystack Mountain School of Craft on Deer Isle. Several years later I trained as a facilitator in the areas of trauma and life stress reduction. This proved to be the catalyst that led me to combine both passions.
Studio TerrKell, is my nest where I build assemblage art and mixed media pieces, incorporating vintage items and discarded objects, that have been shown locally for more than 30 years.
My programs and workshops have been included in Women’s Wellness Retreats and Community Connection Day events through The JD Foundation, Arting Through Grief and Caregiver workshops with Pine Tree Hospice, Artistic Creative Play and Enrichment workshops through Main Street Art Studio, Inc., and collaborations with Center Yoga & Healing Arts. I offer individual and group programs for all ages and abilities that require no prior experience.
In addition to my creative pursuits I’m is currently the Director of Senior Programs at Community Fitness in Guilford, Maine. I’m a Certified Silver Sneakers Instructor, Master, Matter of Balance Trainer, Elder Abuse, Awareness and Response Advocate and have training and a degree in the fields of Aging, Dementia and Developmental Disabilities.

Join me to invite the sunshine into your heart and embrace the light of yoga to nurture your mind, body, and spirit. I am a passionate 500 hr Yoga Alliance registered instructor, deeply enriched by over fourteen years of teaching and practicing a gentle Vinyasa Flow. My yoga journey began as a healing path from the impacts of Lyme Disease, teaching me resilience and the profound benefits of yoga. This transformative experience inspired me to share the healing powers of this ancient practice with others.
In my classes, I focus on developing strength, flexibility, and balance, while also addressing ways to alleviate pain from injuries or chronic conditions. I design each session to uplift and inspire by featuring bright music, laughter, breath work, and spiritual meditations. And, of course, saluting the sun!

My journey into massage therapy began 38 years ago when I owned a weight lifting gym. I learned that massage could often help avoid injuries, aid recovery, & encourage relaxation. I was hooked!
After 10 years of practice, I founded the "Therapeutic Bodywork Learning Center" & have taught successful massage students for over 20 years. I've also become a NCBTMB Approved Continuing Education provider to bodyworker pros, & also enjoy sharing info thru small workshops & offering retreats for self-care / family wellness.
As a Certfied Kripalu Yoga teacher, I specialize in small, gentle beginner/ intermediate level classes & offer private sessions.
Trained in a variety of bodywork modalities, I usually offer an integrated bodywork session for my clients, combining multiple modalities that best suite them. However, I can do each modality on its own if wanted.

Crystal Pranic Healing
Energy Work for One’s Well-Being
Pranic Healing is an ancient art of treating the physical body using vital (life force) energy or prana; the modern form is an art and science systematically and scientifically developed and taught globally by Master Choa Kok Sui.
In Pranic Healing, life force energy is used to cleanse and energize, thus normalize the body and mind energy centers (chakras), and is a non-touch complimentary modality developed through standardized principles and techniques.
Crystals are used to intensify the absorption and projection of energy. The crystal laser/wand concentrates the prana; making the healing process more effective.
The client may choose to sit or lie down to relax. By using hand or hand/crystal movements, the healer projects the energy to the client’s auras and energy centers/chakras.
Akashic Records, Mediumship, Card Reading
After working thirty years as a certified psychiatric R.N. and licensed independent social worker in the Berkshires, I retired to my home state of Maine where I have continued to explore my interest in painting and the mysteries of the psyche.
I earned a B.A. in English at U of M, Orono, an A.D. in nursing at Berkshire Community College, and an MSW at SUNY, Albany. I studied art in all of the colleges and with individual artists over the years. The interest in psychic studies started with Sarah Winslow, a known medium in Portland, Maine and continued with Angie Butler Welch in Brewer, Maine for the next six years. Psychic studies and artistic development have evolved together, influencing each other. My interest in the visible and the invisible worlds that we inhabit continues to develop with a focus on assisting others to develop both realms.
"What are the Akashic Records?
The Akashic Records are a dimension of consciousness that contains a vibrational record of every soul and its journey. This vibrational body of consciousness exists everywhere in its entirety and is completely available at all times and in all places. As such, the Records are an experiential body of knowledge that contains everything that every soul has ever thought, said, done over the course of its existence, as well as all its future possibilities."
The practice of accessing the Records is to "receive Divine illumination at a manageable rate and integrate it into our human experience."
A client is expected to bring questions for a reader that may be asked of the Record holders.
Psychic Medium, Oracle Cards, Akashic Records, Pranic Healer
Laura is a compassionate psychic/medium with six years of eperience guiding and connecting clients with the spirits of their loved ones. She is also a practicing pranic healer with 3 years experience. She loves sharing her healing abilities with others.
